Softing Industrial Automation announces the official market launch of the SDEX Suite (Shopfloor Data Exchange Suite). Following its successful introduction at SPS 2025, the solution is now globally available and will be showcased as a fully released product at Hannover Messe 2026 (April 20–24, Hall 15, Booth D32).

With the SDEX Suite, Softing provides a comprehensive platform for industrial data integration, combining proven Softing solutions such as uaGate, edgeGate, edgeConnector, edgeAggregator, and the Secure Integration Server (SIS) into one secure and scalable solution for data exchange between shopfloor and IT.

Addressing Growing Integration Requirements

Industrial production environments are often characterized by heterogeneous control systems, legacy equipment, and increasing demands for data availability, IT security, and efficiency. Integrating shopfloor data into MES, ERP, and cloud systems is becoming essential, for example, for predictive maintenance, OEE analysis, and AI-based optimization. At the same time, different infrastructures often coexist within a single company, from Windows-based systems on the shopfloor level, Docker applications in central IT departments, to hardware solutions deployed directly in isolated production areas.

SDEX Suite – One Platform for Data Exchange

By supporting Windows- and Linux/Docker-based deployments as well as a dedicated hardware gateway, the SDEX Suite provides the foundation for seamless and scalable data integration across all use cases.

The Suite consolidates key functionalities of Softing products such as uaGate, edgeGate, edgeConnector, edgeAggregator, and the Secure Integration Server into a single, integrated solution for seamless data exchange between shop floor and IT.

Key features include:

  • Versatile connectivity: Seamless access to PLCs, CNC machines, and other systems via OPC UA and MQTT without requiring changes to existing control programs
  • Data aggregation and processing: Structured consolidation, filtering, and transformation for IT and cloud applications
  • Flexible deployment: Available as software (Windows, Linux/Docker) or as a hardware gateway for cabinet installation
  • High security: Support for modern security standards including SSL/TLS encryption
  • Easy configuration: Intuitive UI for setting up a secure, scalable data exchange, no specialized knowledge needed

Together, these capabilities significantly reduce integration efforts and complexity while enabling continuous data availability independent of manufacturers, protocols, or platforms.

Future-Proof Foundation for IIoT and Data-Driven Manufacturing

The open architecture of the SDEX Suite enables seamless integration into existing infrastructures and easy scalability for cloud connectivity, advanced analytics, and AI applications.

With support for standardized protocols and high security requirements, the solution is ideally suited for industrial use cases such as condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and the implementation of Industry 4.0 strategies.

Now Available – Live at Hannover Messe 2026

The SDEX Suite is now available worldwide and offered under a unified licensing model that simplifies procurement and management while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO). Visitors to Hannover Messe 2026 can experience the platform live from April 20 to 24 at the Softing booth (Hall 15, Booth D32).
